Grubb Finds a Home at Joe Gibbs Racing

Well it didn’t take long for championship crew chief, Darian Grubb to find a new home for the 2012 season.

Joe Gibbs Racing made the formal announcement on Friday that Grubb would take over as crew chief for the No. 11 FedEx Toyota driven by Denny Hamlin. Grubb will replace Mike Ford who was release by JGR just days before the announcement.

Grubb won the 2011 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship with Tony Stewart just last month as the duo won a staggering five races, all of which came in the Chase. Despite the team’s success this season, Stewart wasn’t shy about making in known that he and Grubb would part ways at the end of the season. Stewart followed through with his plan within days of winning the title.
