Matt Kenseth wins Stage 1 at Richmond

Matt Kenseth led all 100 laps of Stage 1 during the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

Matt Kenseth scored the first stage win for Joe Gibbs Racing since the Daytona 500 by leading all 100 laps during the first stage.

Second was Kyle Larson who edged out Martin Truex Jr. coming to the start/finish line and then Kevin Harvick, Denny Hamlin, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Newman, Jamie McMurray, Clint Bowyer and Joey Logano rounding out the top ten.

Two cautions flew during Stage 1. The first was for a crash by Erik Jones on lap four which ended his day. The second was for Ricky Stenhouse Jr. who hit the wall but was able to continue on and stay on the lead lap.

Kenseth started from the pole and never looked back after the green flag and led every single lap.
