With the 2013 season coming to a close over the next month, eyes begin to look toward the 2014 season and with that in mind, NASCAR released the first of the three national series schedules by releasing the 2014 Sprint Cup Series schedule during a Tuesday teleconference.

While the schedule remains mostly the same there are a few changes that have been made for next year. Darlington will swap it’s Mother’s Day weekend date with Kansas Speedway, which gets its first night race, giving Darlington the mid-April date that Kansas held this season. Texas Motor Speedway moves its traditional Spring Saturday night race to Sunday afternoon in 2014 to accommodate race fans who want to watch the 2014 Final Four which will be held in Dallas that same weekend. One other minor change is a move a week prior for Martinsville’s Spring race. The two off weekends fall on April 20th between Darlington and Richmond, and July 20th between Indianapolis and Richmond.

In addition to the new schedule being announced, NASCAR also announced that the Air Titan will be at every track on the circuit in 2014 to help reduce drying times in the event of rain.
