Fantasy Fuel – Loudon Edition

Posted by: Dave Thompson, follow @phillyfan17 July 12, 2012 After last weekend’s crash-filled race at Daytona, NASCAR heads to New England’s New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301.  This 1.0-mile flat oval with tight corners makes side-by-side racing a challenge for any driver.  Fantasy owners will need to consider the likelihood [...]

Fantasy Racing – Kansas

The “Monster Mile” was effective last weekend at shuffling the standings in the Chase for the Cup. NASCAR’s five-time champion, Jimmie Johnson made claim that he is a threat to win his sixth consecutive championship. Kurt Busch, with his win at Dover, now seems like a legitimate contender for the championship. Kevin Harvick and Carl Edwards both had solid performances at Dover and remain at the top of the standings. Tony Stewart fell victim to the “Monster Mile” with a 25th place finish after his surprise start to the Chase with back-to-back wins.

Fantasy Racing – Richmond

Richmond, VA – A quick look at the results from my picks last week at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Group A

Jeff Gordon – 1st place. Gordon led 146 laps and clearly had the best car all day. Gordon’s teammate, Jimmie Johnson made it interesting at the end as he closed on the No. 24 and both drivers battled a loose car with Gordon able to hold off Johnson.

Matt Kenseth – 9th place. Kenseth has a strong car and appeared to be the only car to challenge Gordon early in the race. The team made several adjustments to try to tighten the car up, but their efforts failed as Kenseth was unable to get the car back to the front.
